Meeting’s Presenters:
Ms. Anne Pearson from the New York City Department of Health will discuss and answer questions
on the new smoking regulation signed into law in August related to smoking at hospitals.
Ms. Kristina Hatcher from Global Threat Reduction Initiative NA-21, National Nuclear Security
Administration (NNSA) will discuss nuclear security in hospitals.

Bonnie Michelman, President of the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety,
spoke on the association, its benefits and the current status of healthcare security.
Bonnie S. Michelman, CPP, CHPA - has over twenty years of security management experience
in diverse industries. She is currently the Director of Police, Security and Outside Services at
Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, a 15,000 employee world renowned
Harvard Teaching Institution. She is currently the President of IAHSS and is a past President of the
Board of Directors for the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
Bonnie is a former President of the American Society for Industrial Security International (ASIS) and
currently is an Instructor at Northeastern University College of Criminal Justice.
Bonnie is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Certified Healthcare Protection
Administrator (CHPA). Bonnie has an MBA from Bentley College, an MS in Criminal Justice from
Northeastern University and a BA in Government and Sociology from Clark University.
